2022 Torpedo Red
Torpedo Red is a limited-edition bottling of our Founders’ Red created in honor of Veterans Day and the legacy of service that helped shape Johnson Estate Winery.
Named in honor of the two founders of the farm and winery, both named Fred Johnson, Torpedo Red celebrates the generations of family, farming, and dedication behind our estate. This fruit-forward, lightly oaked red wine offers a medium body with fine tannins and is crafted primarily from Estate-grown Chancellor grapes (90%) with Pinot Noir (10%).
The story behind the label honors winery founder Frederick Spencer Johnson, a WWII Navy torpedo bomber pilot whose service inspired the design created by his grandson, Spencer Johnson, a U.S. Navy active duty EOD officer. In recognition of that continuing legacy of service, $2 from every bottle sold will be donated to the EOD Warrior Foundation, supporting EOD warriors, veterans, and their families.
